Greenhouse structures that have been standing for 30 years!

You may have noticed We Grow Dreams has been proceeding with some much needed repairs and replacements to many of our framed greenhouse structures.  Much of the wood, gutters, and framework is original from when this greenhouse was formally “We-Go Greenhouse” before We Grow Dreams was founded back in 2005 (nearly 20 years ago!!).  We have been counting our blessings that these structures have held up this long, but we do not want to push our luck!  Here are some repair goals that we have for this upcoming year, we hope this fundraiser will help us to make these repairs happen:

• Replace the greenhouse shaded plastic over our cash register area and eliminate some of our draftiest areas during winter
• Replace and restripe our parking lot
• Relevel the area around our raised bed gardens and fix the framework of our raised bed structures

If you haven’t been in to see us since last Spring, we have done SO MUCH to repair around the greenhouse and surrounding property, here are just a few items we have done so far:

• Replaced gutter to redirect flow of water when it rains through the back glass house
• Replaced west side lean-to from our retail area all the way to the back of the back glass house
• Replaced entire front and east side retail half wall
• Reclaimed overgrown areas on west side of the property and behind our compost pile at the back of the property
• Recovered our retail area, one of our largest growing greenhouses, as well as 6 of our hoop houses!

All of this is possible thanks to YOU, our wonderful supporters of We Grow Dreams and its mission!  This raffle is a great way to support us in a small way, and if you are lucky, get something in return too!  Prizes are $1000, $500, $250 that you can receive in cold, hard cash OR We Grow Dream’s credit for beautiful mixed pots and bedding plants this Spring.  Tickets are $25 each or 6 tickets for $100.  The winning tickets will be drawn on Earth Day – Monday, April 22nd here at the greenhouse – we will contact our lucky winners!  Thanks so much for your support of We Grow Dreams and its mission to provide employment for adults with disabilities!
