Volunteer opportunities exist for organizations and individuals alike. Volunteers under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. To ensure the safety of our Team Members, background checks are required when volunteers work directly with Team Members. Please include a check for $15 with your completed Volunteer application to cover the costs of the background check; your check will be returned to you after five hours of volunteering. Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteering has a meaningful, positive impact on your community. Volunteering also has a positive impact on you too! It is mentally and physically fulfilling work that you can place on any resume or educational application.
No experience is required and training is provided to work as a Job Coach with a Team Member. The Job coach provides support as the Team Member works in the greenhouse or on the grounds performing a variety of jobs that are part of the greenhouse operation.
Volunteers with basic handyman or carpentry skills and computer technology are needed to help with on-site projects throughout the year. Making personalized bricks and sand cast leaves, and gardening projects are on-going as weather permits.
Volunteers are needed to staff and help with Special Events such as fundraising events, greeting and assisting customers on high volume weekends or at holiday celebrations in the greenhouse.
A variety of clerical and administrative opportunities are oftentimes available. Examples include data entry for our mailing list, researching grant opportunities, grant writing, conducting tours, and speaking engagements
Expert or beginning gardeners can volunteer to work with plants in the greenhouse and on-site gardens. Activities change with the seasons and can include planting plugs, planting containers, developing landscape plans for the grounds, planting and maintaining gardens.
