Operating Funds

Due to the seasonal nature of our business, our incoming revenue dwindles January through April, although we continue to provide job training services during this time. We request contributions to support our program in these reduced-income months. Your support will ensure that we do not have to cut back on any of our services during the winter months. Donors will be recognized on our website and in our newsletter.

Bowlathon Fundraiser

Our annual fundraiser, the We Grow Dreams Bowlathon, is a huge event traditionally held the end of February. Families, friends and neighbors are all welcome to bowl, donate cash or items for our raffles, step up to be a sponsor or join us for a fun afternoon.

Scholarship Fund – to assist individuals with disabilities who cannot afford to participate in the job training program. Cost $2100/year

Tractor – 18hp riding tractor for hauling our trailer with plants from back fields to front retail areas. Cost $2200 one time cost

Hoop House Upkeep and Maintenance – to replace snow fencing on display benchtops, cinder blocks and lumber for support of benches – ranges from $50 to $250 as materials are needed per house (we have 12 houses to maintain)

Heaters and Ventilation Shutters – to provide airflow in each greenhouse. Cost $1,000-$3,000 per greenhouse (we need these for 4 greenhouses currently)

Gas – for delivery truck. Cost $85/fill up

Stamps – for mass mailings, bills, etc. Cost $65/roll

Stain and Waterproof Sealer – for outdoor display benches. Cost $150/ 5 gallon bucket

Cleaning Supplies – (paper towels, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner)

GENERAL – We can ALWAYS use giftcards to Home Depot, Menards and Lowe’s to use as needs arise — we can get almost anything we need at those businesses!
